Theology for Everyone: Teesside 2018 continues on Saturday 12 May, 9am-1pm, at Stockton Baptist Church, The Square, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 1TE. Our topic is “Serving on Our Knees: Strength and Weakness in God’s Service” with Philip Plyming.
Is hardship a sign that we’ve got faith wrong, or that God doesn’t care? The Apostle Paul’s own experience suggests the opposite: God is at work in and through our weakness and suffering! Come and join us as Philip Plyming unpacks these deep truths from 1 & 2 Corinthians – essential for any and all followers of Jesus!
Philip is Warden of Cranmer Hall in Durham, having previously served at an ecumenical church in Basingstoke and then as Vicar of Claygate; he is deeply committed to seeing local churches become envisioned for growth. In his research he studied Paul’s hardships in 1 and 2 Corinthians and how they might contribute to contemporary Christian communication. He has also written a Grove booklet on Harry Potter and the Meaning of Life! In his spare time Philip likes watching cricket and travelling by train. Sometimes the two are combined.

ast year, or to come to every session this year (though we’d love it if you did!).
