Cranmer Hall, Durham is seeking to appoint an individual of excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills to be Lecturer in Mission and Evangelism.
Training in mission and evangelism has always been central at Cranmer Hall – and continues to be so across all pathways, including residential and context-based ordination training, Free Church, Children’s and Youth Ministry, and independent students. This training is practical and applied: students are prepared for real-world contexts rich in both opportunity and challenge, rooted in strong biblical and theological foundations, and equipped with hands-on experience in mission and evangelism across all ages.
The post-holder will teach Mission and Evangelism at undergraduate level and will contribute to other modules and pathways, it is hoped in children’s, youth and families ministry. There will also be an opportunity to develop postgraduate teaching and supervision on both our MA and DThM programmes.
Alongside teaching, the post-holder will work closely with the centre directors to support and grow the profile of one or both of Cranmer Hall’s two research centres:
– The Bede Centre for Church Planting Theology
– Growing Faith Foundation Learning Hub
As theological education evolves, innovation and grant funding are increasingly vital. The post-holder will play a key role in supporting Cranmer Hall’s engagement with grant-making bodies, including the Church of England. The post-holder will also serve as a Tutor, supporting the formation of students preparing for ordained ministry in the Church of England, as well as students on other formational pathways.
