Accessibility and SEND
We seek to ensure there is a place for everyone at Cranmer Hall.
In today’s diverse learning environment, providing equal opportunities for all students is essential. Cranmer Hall seeks to make theological learning and formation accessible to everyone, irrespective of needs, disabilities, or learning differences. This is not simply a matter of compliance with the 2010 Equality Act, but integral to our understanding of what it is to be the Body of Christ and to serve the wider Church.
Our DiversityW
All of us think differently and have different ways of navigating the world. We recognise this as a gift and a beautiful expression of God’s created diversity. Theological and academic formation, however, have historically favoured some ways of thinking and some physical abilities more than others. Cranmer Hall supports everyone to engage with training and formation to their fullest potential. We seek to continually learn from and work with a diverse student community.
Physical Accessibility
Our location on a UNESCO World Heritage Site protected location poses some challenges for physical accessibility, but we are committed to providing inclusive and supportive teaching and accommodation for all our students, staff, and guests.
More information can be found in our St John's College Accessibility Statement below.
Practical Support
We work closely with Durham University’s Disability Support Team, and all students with Specific Learning Differences including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, and/or ASD are offered personalised Recommended Reasonable Adjustments and support plans to aid them in their learning and assessments.
