Accommodation

We are here to help you if you are relocating to Durham in order to study at Cranmer Hall. Durham is a wonderful place to live, and we offer a range of accommodation within the city centre.

Single students can apply for a study bedroom either in a shared College-owned house in Durham or within the main College site on the Bailey. These rooms are available on a term-time only basis or on a whole-year basis, and they include food in College and all utilities.

Single rooms are also available for ordinands who want to board weekly, continuing to live with their family at weekends and during vacations (outside term-time) and travelling to Durham for four days each week. ï»¿

Married and partnered students can apply to live in one of the College-owned 3-bed houses at Brass Thill, a 10-minute walk from the main College site. Married and partnered ordinands are entitled to a set number of meals in College each week, and their families are also welcome to eat in College up to four times a week.

We’d love to show you accommodation during your visit or interview. If you need or prefer to rent privately, we would be glad to offer advice and local knowledge during your application process; please contact cranmer.admissions@durham.ac.uk if you would appreciate any help in this regard.
