Growing Leaders

Empowering Christlike leaders for mission and ministry in the North East.

Growing Leaders is a practical, community based programme designed to train and equip Christians for effective leadership in their local church and wider community. Building on over a century of experience in training people for ministry and mission, Growing Leaders brings Cranmer Hall’s rich heritage directly into churches and communities across the North East.

Growing Leaders uses tried and tested material to help train Christian leaders in the North East. The first course successfully began in 2022 with 44 delegates and our vision is to see people trained and mentored in multiple locations across the region.

Where could Growing Leaders take you?

Growing Leaders is for anyone stepping into greater responsibility in the Church, whether as a lay leader, team leader, elder, or someone exploring ordained ministry. Participants find that the programme accelerates their development, opening doors to new roles and responsibilities within their congregations and communities.

For those sensing a longer-term calling to ordained or accredited ministry, Growing Leaders can serve as a natural first step on a pathway towards further study at Cranmer Hall. Our team is committed to helping every participant discern and pursue their vocation, wherever God may lead them. ï»¿

More information on the course

We use the CPAS Growing Leaders material developed by James Lawrence. CPAS has seen over 10,000 people trained through the course. It is one of the most in depth and effective leadership development programmes available.

CPAS' three part approach provides a solid grounding

  • Part 1: Firm foundations for Christian leadership
  • Part 2: Key skills for Christian leadership
  • Part 3: Keeping faithful in Christian leadership

We use the CPAS framework and material and have tailored it to the unique context of the North East and our calling to serve the diverse mix of Churches across the region.
