Worship

Worship is at the heart of our community.

We gather daily for prayer, reflection, praise, and worship in a variety of forms.

St John’s College has an evangelical Anglican foundation and a long history of providing a home to a number of Christian traditions, most notably Methodist, Free Church and Baptist. It has historically been a special place (and a unique place) for women and men of different denominations to train and to worship together. We worship together as a community at different times and in different ways throughout the week, and our Tuesday College Communion seeks to recognise and witness to these different traditions.

At Cranmer Hall the heart of our worship is expressed in the Daily Office and in our coming together around the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion. The Church of England is beautifully diverse, and our worship takes many forms. One of the dynamics which we value about life at Cranmer Hall is the breadth of tradition and worship style which is rooted in the evangelical tradition of the College and is gracious and hospitable to others.
