Reading Bonhoeffer for the Life of the Church Conference 20-22 September 2016

‘Reading Bonhoeffer for the Life of the Church’ will gather people interested in Dietrich Bonhoeffer, both scholarly specialists and church practitioners. The plenary papers will offer close readings of Bonhoeffer’s texts but with applied, church-related questions in mind. We are seeking a fresh perception of the value of Bonhoeffer for a contemporary context, and one which may enliven church practice today.

There will also be space in the conference for others to offer shorter papers on Bonhoeffer, which will allow scholars and church practitioners to share some of their insights as well. There will be space for questions and discussions following all papers.

The conference will take place at St John’s College, Durham University, 20-22 September 2016.
