Structure and Modules
The Foundation Award aims to provide a general theological foundation for ministry as well as developing some foundational ministerial competencies. The Foundation Award has a particular focus on the ministry of new worshipping communities and their relationship to the wider church.
Students will normally study four Common Awards Level 4 modules of which three are core modules:
Foundations in Theology (20 credits) is an introductory level course designed to introduce students to some aspects of Christian Doctrine, Biblical Studies and ministerial issues.
Creating New Christian Communities (10-credits) is a module which explores the theology and practice of starting new Christian communities (also called church planting).
An Independent Learning Project (20 credits) in which you work with a member of staff to develop a 5,000-word learning portfolio on theology, ministry, and new worshipping communities.
In addition, a student will take a 10-credit module related to ministry or mission such as Pastoral Care or Preaching.
Cranmer Hall is a place where academic rigour is carefully married with formational excellence.
