Tutor at Cranmer Hall and Missional Project Leader – East Durham Mission Project

Cranmer Hall is seeking a full time tutor for an innovative missional post in partnership with Durham Diocese. What follows is a brief summary of the post. For full details please contact us as outlined below.

They will be a full member of the core team at Cranmer Hall with teaching and tutorial responsibilities shaped to enable them also to lead the East Durham Mission Project. They will be a person of deep and inspiring Christian faith, demonstrating the exemplary character and growing in Christ. They should be an leader with demonstrable ability and experience in growing churches, particularly in areas of deprivation. They will be actively committed to the Church of England, lay or ordained. They will be qualified to teach, ideally either in Anglicanism or Mission and Pioneering, and they will be suitably experienced for the task of forming the vibrant cohort of ordinands at Cranmer Hall for a lifetime of mission and ministry.

Overview of the Role Description

The role of Tutor at Cranmer Hall and Missional Project Leader has 4 primary components:

  1. Tutorial Responsibility at Cranmer Hall (in common with other tutors, but with a lessened tutorial load)
  2. Teaching Responsibility in subject areas of interest and specialism as agreed
  3. Leadership of mission partnership with Durham Diocese, at least for the first two years in the East Durham Mission Project (EDMP – see attached papers)

This is a full time post embodying our partnership with the Diocese of Durham as a missional part of the church.

The post-holder will be a person of deep and mature Christian character and faith, a committed Anglican, with demonstrable experience of growing churches, particularly in areas of deprivation. They will be qualified to teach, ideally either in the areas of Anglicanism or Mission and Pioneering, and they will be suitably experienced for the task of forming the vibrant cohort of ordinands at Cranmer Hall for a lifetime of mission and ministry.
