Raised and educated in Durham, Nick completed his undergraduate and doctoral studies in Oxford before returning to the Diocese to serve as Curate in Stranton, Hartlepool. He is an accomplished young scholar with an impressive track record in research and publication.

Nick will work closely with Dr Joss Bryan in taking over leadership of the MATM and teaching TPR, and with Revd Dr Kate Bruce in his induction to tutoring ordinands, together with other aspects of the role.

Revd Dr Philip Plyming, Warden Elect of Cranmer Hall, said:

‘I look forward greatly to welcoming Nick to the Cranmer team. He brings real strengths in theological education and research, together with practical experience of parish ministry. It was very encouraging to see the quality of all those shortlisted for the role and I am confident that in Nick we have someone of really exceptional gifts and abilities who will further strengthen the Cranmer tutorial team.

The Deputy Warden of Cranmer, Revd Dr Kate Bruce, commented: ‘This has been a prayerful process of discernment, involving representatives from across the Cranmer community. We recognise a clear vocation to theological education in Nick, a discernment which has the full support and recognition of both Bishops Paul and Mark. It Is such a joy to belong to  community which seeks to see and free potential in others. I am really looking forward to working with Nick.’

Dr Nick Moore adds:

‘I am thrilled to be joining a great team at Cranmer, equipping men and women to embody and speak the good news of Jesus in the North East and beyond. It is particularly exciting to be taking on oversight of the MA programmes, which are all about training excellent theologians who will serve and sustain the life of the church.’
