Glenn Packiam: “The Loss of Narrative in Contemporary Worship”

 Chaired by Prof. Pete Ward

 May 15th 16.00 – 17.15  (British Summer Time)

 Glenn Packiam

Glenn Packiam is a research student on the Durham Doctorate working on contemporary worship music. He is the Associate Senior Pastor, New Life Church; Lead Pastor, New Life Downtown, Colorado Springs, USA.

Glenn will be presenting the latest on his research. His short paper ‘The Loss of Narrative in Contemporary Worship’ will explore how contemporary worship songs that bring people hope seem to be focused disproportionately on the present tense. He will discuss a few perspectives on why this is the case, and explore what is at stake for congregational worship.

This is a taster for anyone thinking of starting doctoral research. Come and see what kind of research is possible on the Durham Doctorate in Theology and Ministry.
