Contemplative Mission
Seven Cranmer Ordinands have been engaged in a unique course called ‘Contemplative Mission’. This involved a week at a silent monastery, followed by a week based at Newcastle Cathedral, where they led a day’s outreach called ‘Calm in a Busy World’. Newcastle Cathedral is very different to many such churches, being right in the middle of the central business district, adjacent to night clubs, businesses and the main railway station. Cranmer is committed both to deepening prayer and innovative mission that helps people outside the church find the peace of God in an increasingly noisy and frantic world. During the day, Ordinands were interviewed by Premier Radio and you can hear that interview here: https://www.premier.org.uk/Across-the-UK/North-of-England/Calm-in-a-Busy-World
We are deeply grateful to the dean an chapter of Newcastle Cathedral as well as to the monastic communities at Mucknell Abbey, Glasshampton, Fairacres and Crawley Down for their support with this unique course.
