The Desecularisation of the City: London’s Churches, 1980 to the Present – conference

Cranmer Hall has collaborated with the Department of Theology and Religious Studies of Kings College London to hold a conference entitled ‘The Desecularisation of the City: London’s Churches, 1980 to the Present’. This takes place on 25 January at Kings’ Waterloo Campus. The speakers include Professors Grace Davie (Exeter University), John Wolffe (Open University) and Eric Kaufmann (Birkbeck College) and David Goodhew from Cranmer Hall. The conference explores research in a new book from Routledge, also called The Desecularisation of the City: London’s Churches, 1980 to the Present. This volume shows how the number of churches in London has risen by 50% since 1979 and explores the ways that London’s churches have markedly changed in the last 40 years. It is edited by Cranmer Hall staff: http://community.dur.ac.uk/churchgrowth.research/conferences/the-desecularisation-of-the-city-a-half-day-conference
