We have a thriving postgraduate community which is fully integrated into College life. Many of our postgraduate students live around the UK and overseas, and access our teaching through a combination of online weekly classes and in-person blocks and residentials in Durham. It is possible to study our postgraduate programmes on a full- or part-time basis.

Levels & Credits

Cranmer Hall offers four programmes at postgraduate level:

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Theology and Ministry (60 credits)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Theology and Ministry (120 credits)
  • MA in Theology and Ministry (180 credits)
  • Doctor of Theology and Ministry

Postgraduate Taught Programmes

The MA courses are validated through Common Awards, the national validation programme for theological and ministerial education, which is based at Durham University. The aim of the courses is to provide an integrated vocational training for ordained and lay ministry in which theology informs mission and ministerial practice and practice informs theology.
